For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. (NLT) -Lamentations 3:31-32
As parents, do we take enjoy punishing our children? No! But we do it because we love our children. In the same way, it is also painful when we receive punishment from the Lord. Take joy though that you have a heavenly Father who is unfailing in His love for you. Because He takes the time to punish you, He will also take the time to bless you with love.

Thus says the LORD: Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.
