Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Matthew 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV) 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Owe nothing to anyone - except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God's law. (NLT) -Romans 13:8
If you don't show your love for someone, it may appear to others that they are not loved. Are you sidetracked by your busy day that you're forgetting the little things? Those little things add up and become powerful enough to send the wrong message. Overcome this and send a loving message. What speaks to your loved one? If it's confidence, encourage them. If it's feeling pretty, compliment them. If it's strength, support them. Fulfilling this law will honor God.

Pray Paul’s prayer from Philipians over your life and the lives of those close to you. May God fill your heart with such love that it has no choice but to overflow more and more. May you find knowledge and understanding rather than living a confused and wasted life. May you continue to grow in your faith through every stage of your life.

Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble. (NLT) -Proverbs 21:23
Sometimes emotions can get the best of us and cause us to say words we don't truly mean. Or we are charged with emotions and choose words with different implications than we intended. When you get in this state do your best to stabilize and then try to communicate emotions when you can better watch your tongue.

The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words. (NLT) -Proverbs 15:28
Big questions require thoughtful responses. Better to pause, pray and find the right words when facing a tricky situation. When we rush to reply in haste, we often make matters worse. God knows sometimes our first inclinations are not our best ones. Time gives us the chance to find wisdom in difficulty.

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (NLT) -Ephesians 1:5

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” (NLT) -Genesis 4:7
God’s message of grace can be traced back to the beginnings of human history. Even when God approaches Cain, one of the original sinners, He encourages him! He tells Cain that He will be accepted if he does the right thing. Essentially, God pleads with Cain, asking him to choose God, choose to do this thing the right way. We always have a choice. It is in our power to do what is right. Watch out for sin and choose to not let it be your master.

Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. (NLT) -Colossians 4:6
The words we choose in our everyday conversations tell the most about who we are. If we choose a harsh tone and unkind words, it’s going to be hard for those around you to see God’s grace at work in your life. When we speak harshly it also makes it hard for those who love you to see you as a cherished child of God. Often resulting in others responding to us with negativity. This is why it’s so important for us to choose grace in the way we communicate. Be the one who ends the cycle of negativity in your relationships. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. (NLT) -John 17:18
God has given us a mission. We are charged to make a difference in our world. He sends us out so that we can make an impact in our homes, cities, in the lives of people we don’t even like, and in the whole world! Are you on mission? Think through your areas of influence. Pray and ask God to use you to be a light in the lives of those around you.

"And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you." (NLT) -Luke 11:9
The power of persistent prayer is incredible. Strength rises up in your voice as you continuously seek God's answer to your prayers. Rest assured that He will always answer: through fulfillment of your prayer, a firm "no," or by guiding your heart in a different direction, causing you to no longer seek the answer to that prayer. Go ahead and pray a specific prayer daily.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (NLT) -Proverbs 4:23
Solomon, the wisest man, told us to guard our hearts. It can be easy for our hearts to be deceived if we lack awareness. The best solution is to surround ourselves with Godly people and listen to their advice, as it's difficult to see deception ourselves. Is there an area in your life where more than one person has been trying to tell you something?

When you think positive thoughts, you see the glass as half full. It may sound simple, but that attitude can make all the difference in your approach to people, situations and environments. The most difficult part is keeping it top of mind. Try remembering this verse and reciting it to yourself throughout the day.
