Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (NLT) -John 8:31-32
A disciple is a student. We are constantly learning and growing as a disciple of Jesus. We must put into practice the knowledge we learn through our studies in the Bible and remain faithful. As we delve deeper, the truth of Jesus Christ will be revealed to us and in this truth we will gain freedom from sin. As sinners we are slaves to sin, but if we are dedicated disciples we can choose to overcome this slavery.

You must warn each other every day, while it is still "today," so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. (NLT) -Hebrews 3:13
Have you ever seen anyone deceived by sin? It's easy to recognize from a distance, but it demonstrates just how vulnerable everyone is to deception. We talk ourselves into believing lies. Our hearts become hardened when we no longer care about respected opinions and shut out Godly influences. This is how a highly respected person can soon live a disgraceful life. Let's warn each other. And be wise enough to receive such warnings with openness.
