The person who made the idol never stops to reflect, “Why, it’s just a block of wood! I burned half of it for heat and used it to bake my bread and roast my meat. How can the rest of it be a god? Should I bow down to worship a piece of wood?” (NLT) -Isaiah 44:19 God explains to His people how silly it is for them to put their hope into a man made idol. He admonishes them for not reflecting on what they are doing. Why would a wood figure made by hand be able to offer salvation? Don’t let the busy nature of life to keep you from taking time to reflect on who God is.
