For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (NLT) -Galatians 3:26 Is this a hall pass where we get to do whatever pleases us because of our faith in Christ? No way! For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (NLT) -Galatians 3:26 It's easy to get carried away thinking good works and acts of kindness will make us right with God. Sometimes we put so much faith in our our own abilities that we lose the need for God. However, the Bible is very clear we cannot do enough good deeds to enter heaven. Be comforted in knowing our faith in Jesus will cover us. Yet, even if we believe, it is still easy to slip into performance based thinking where we must accomplish X,Y, and Z in order for God to love us. http://bible.com/1/jhn.3.20-21.kjv For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
