Matthew 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV) 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God's mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. (NLT) -Colossians 2:2
Everyone has a magnetic response to strong ties of love. As a matter of fact, we knit ourselves together and not just romantically. People seek out community in order to find these strong ties that are based in love. In community we are able to find love, acceptance, and encouragement. Are you building a community that demonstrates the love of Christ?

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. (NLT) -John 15:13
Helping a friend in need may be just a simple act of kindness, but the importance here is about relationships. We don't necessarily think about "maintaining" relationships but rather directing our time to things that matter to us. Take a break from your busy life and think of a starving relationship you can feed. It could blossom into something so beautiful only God could have touched it.

They answered, "Show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What can you do?" (NLT) -John 6:30
When we are looking for a miracle it's much harder to find one. When we aren't expecting a miracle, we fail to recognize them. Our minds are less focused on God because we are steeped in our logical culture. Therefore, our hearts are hardened to miracles and when it happens we don't attribute it to God. Are we hardening our hearts to the miracles God has done and will do for us? Don't let a miracle be like the mist...sometimes it's not there and sometimes it is, and when it is, we can't feel it. Loosen your heart and be on the lookout for mist and miracles.

[17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; [18] While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. (NLT) -Isaiah 28:16
Where do you find your security? Does it lie in your success? What about your finances? Or are you counting on family? When one of these crumbles, our sense of security is shaken. There is a stronger rock to stand on that will withstand any quake. That firm and tested stone is Jesus. If you get down or depressed because of bad news, your foundation may depend on something other than the hope found in Jesus.

“Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life. (NLT) -Mark 10:29-30

We only enter, when we willingly follow him. So let go of the things that are holding you back. God promises an eternal reward for our obedience to Him.

Prejudice is hostile thoughts towards a group of people who have a different belief, culture, or ethnicity. What makes a person prejudiced? Usually, it stems from pride and believing that you are better than others. Is it possible we as believers become prejudiced towards others? What kinds of people never receive faith because we are prejudiced towards them? Is there any chance you have pride that gets in your way of loving others?

Words are easy to say, it only takes a breath to utter them. But it's much more difficult to be a reliable friend. It requires consistent communication, thoughtful awareness of feelings, and opening yourself up in vulnerable times. Don't be too quick to say you are a loyal friend who is without any reliable friends. Have you been supporting your friends in a way that shows them you are reliable? For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! (NLT) -Isaiah 64:4
As children it is very difficult to sit for 15 minutes because it feels like forever. Yet, with age comes the rapid speed of passing time. When it comes to waiting on the Lord why does it feel like we are children all over again? Then, when the waiting is over, God produces an unexpected and undeserved outcome and the waiting becomes insignificant. A person who strays from home is like a bird that strays from its nest. (NLT) -Proverbs 27:8
Do you know what is more dangerous than being absent from home? It is being at home but mentally checking out. It’s alarming because it ruins families slowly over time but quickly in the end. Our presence becomes like a decoy. From the outside, everything looks good but the love, mind and spirit is gone. If this is you, find ways to change this direction. Try inserting some couch time to talk and listen to one another. You can start by just asking what their highs and lows were for the day.

A dream can be a very good thing because it overcomes complacency and can fill you with life. When you dream, be purposeful about how you choose to include God. Keep Him smack in the middle of it all. Otherwise, your dream can take on an unhealthy desire, which can absorb your heart and mind away from God.
