Yet, when we are established we barely notice the arrival of newcomers. Constantly we have opportunities to reach out to others who are new students, coworkers, neighbors, or even immigrants. To oppress is to keep someone in hardship. Often the struggle of adjusting alone is enough to feel oppressed. We can make a difference and ease the oppression of newcomers.
